Ontario’s Heroic Firefighters and Police Officers Receive Top Honours

David Orazietti, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, addresses the 21 Ontarians awarded with the Ontario Medals for Police and Firefighter Bravery at Queen’s Park.

Six firefighters and 15 police officers received Ontario’s top honours for bravery Thursday night.

The Ontario Medal for Firefighter Bravery and the Ontario Medal for Police Bravery are the province’s highest honours in recognition of firefighters and police officers whose actions demonstrate outstanding courage.

This year’s ceremony awarded honours for both 2015 and 2016.
