Overtime Tells the Story

After 60 minutes of play it would be overtime that would tell the story of who would come out victorious.

Well that, and 9 rounds of a shoot out.

It would be Lukas Wernblom that would score twice in the shoot out to give Sweden the 3-2 win and their chance at the gold medal.

From the first period things looked better for Team Canada White. With an early goal by Jackson Shepard and several breakaways.

But Marcus Westfalt would tie it up assisted by David Gustafsson and Filip Johansson.

In the second it looked good again for Team Canada as Barrett Hayton scored less than a minute into play, assisted by Anderson MacDonald and Jett Woo.

But a few minutes later Samuel Fagemo would tie it up again assisted by Filip Johansson and Axel Andersson.

From there the game stayed tied through the third. Tied in goals. Tied in shots. And almost tied in penalty minutes.

Then the shoot out loss to Team Canada White.

Team Canada White will have to fight for the bronze now as Sweden advances to the gold medal game.
