Restructured routes and schedule adjustments for the Sault Ste. Marie Transit Community Bus will take effect Monday, December 5.
Community Bus routes have been adjusted to improve efficiency including the addition of stops at The Metro Supermarket at 150 Churchill Boulevard and Wacky Wings Eatery at 350 Lake Street.
“We have consolidated three community bus routes into two routes; therefore, eliminating any duplication of transit service, which has allowed us to increase the number of stops for each destination from four to eight , every day, Monday through Friday,” says Don Scott, Manager of Transit and Parking.
The Community Bus is available to all transit riders, but operates primarily for seniors and individuals with special needs. Beginning December 5, revised route service will be offered 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday to Friday. The Community Bus is wheelchair accessible with seating to accommodate up to 20 people.
