WELLAND, Ont. – Police in Ontario have ended an Amber Alert that was issued Friday for a nine-year-old girl.
The Niagara Regional Police Service said it cancelled the alert early Saturday morning, even though the girl had still not been located.
Police also said in their release that a child abduction investigation was ongoing.
The Amber Alert said the girl was last seen Thursday evening in Welland, Ont., and was believed to be with her mother.
Police said they were operating under a court order to return the child to her father.
