There was some exciting action this week in high school boys basketball. St. Mary’s travelled to Korah to take on the Colts. In junior, St. Mary’s cruised to a 44-28 victory. In the senior contest, the Colts would come out with a 59-42 victory. Andrew Richards would lead the Colts with 16, while Daniel Martella poured in 11 for St. Mary’s.
On Thursday, St. Mary’s travelled to Superior Heights to take on the Steelhawks. In the junior contest the Knights would pull out a 42-34 decision. Carter Bonin had 8 points to lead the Knights, while Graham Derrier would add 8 for the Steelhawks.
In the senior contest, the Steelhawks would pull out an exciting 45-42 victory. Jackson Coneybeare would lead all scorers in the contest with 20, while Daniel Martella would add 15 for the Knights.
At White Pines, the Wolverines would host the Korah Colts. In the junior contest, Korah would come away with a 52-41 victory. Tyler Brechin would lead the Colts with 12 points, while Joe Catches would pour in 24 for the Wolverines.
In the senior contest, the game would go down to the wire with the Wolverines coming up with a 44-42 home court victory. Alex Foster would lead the Wolverines with 13, while Isaiah Graber would add 11.
The Colts would get 14 points in the paint from Jadon Fogg and 10 points from Jordan Robinson-Wright.
Week three continues this Wednesday as the White Pines Wolverines travel to Superior Heights to take on the Steelhawks. The junior contest tips off at 6:00 pm, while the seniors follow at 7:30 pm.
