Positive news stories to enter City Council

Councilor Sandra Hollingsworth brought a motion to city council tonight to have time at the beginning of each City Council meeting for positive local stories.

Councilor Matthew Shoemaker was strongly opposed saying that the meetings were long enough and it would be a waste of time. Other councilors disagreed.

The motion was passed.

  1. Shoemaker wants to increase the time people get to smoke cigarettes, Christian wants to charge people for passing through the city, this weeks good news. Neither of these things are happening today. Do some of our councillors think past the ideas that pop into their heads?

  2. They get paid to have these council meetings and represent our city. The least they can do is take 5 minutes and hear something positive about our community. So much negativity! Sad
