The Buck-a-Tire campaign returned this year and OK Tire was excited to help another local and worthy cause.
This winter season OK Tire was able to donate $1500 to the Autism Ontario Sault Ste. Marie chapter! A small but mighty local chapter of parents and other advocates that volunteer their time to help local families that live with Autism Spectrum Disorder. There is parent support events, workshops, friendship training, sibling support, parent training, and social learning opportunities for kids with ASD. All the money raised stays in the community to support families.
OK Tire presented the cheque to the local team which included Tanya Running (Secretary),
Barbe Rook (Treasurer) and Don Bedard (President).
“When we heard how much they raised – we were so excited! It makes a huge difference in the support and workshops we can offer our local families.” says Tanya Running, secretary of the local Chapter Leadership Council.
Last year OK Tire’s “Buck-a-Tire” campaign raised $1200 dollars for Breaking Away, a
registered not-for-profit organization for adults with developmental disabilities in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. The year before that, OK Tire proudly presented a cheque for $1500 to the Canadian Cancer Society and hopes to continue this annual tradition within Sault Ste. Marie.
