Community Support is Valued and Appreciated by Sault Rotaract

Sault Rotaract is a group of young professionals who are dedicated to community service, to promoting the health of diverse populations of people at local and international levels.

Support from various members of the Sault Ste. Marie community is very important in that regard. For instance, Rotaract implemented the Holiday Care Pack project during the past Christmas season. Three local shelters—Pauline’s Place, the Neighbourhood Resource Centre, and St. Vincent’s Place—were each provided with over 25 backpacks containing personal care products (e.g., shampoo, deodorant, First Aid kits, etc.), entrainment materials (e.g., books, playing cards, magazines, etc.), and comfort products (e.g., socks, hats, mitts, blankets, etc.). A total of 80 backpacks were delivered, which was invaluable with respect to helping each organization provide their clients with resources necessary for protecting and improving personal wellbeing.

The Holiday Care Pack project was therefore successful. This is largely because of the generous support provided by Scotia Bank, Wishart Law Firm, Advance Interior Contracting, Avery Construction, Boots and Saddles Road House, the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie, employees from multiple social service organizations, and Metro within the Churchill Plaza. Rotaract thus appreciates the efforts put forth by each sponsor and is proud to serve, as well as work with, the people of Sault Ste. Marie.

New projects are often being designed, and existing projects are continuously being evaluated and adapted to the changing needs of unique people or groups. With that being said, please do not hesitate to contact Mike Storozuk at 705-987-6563 or email [email protected] if you have any concern about an issue facing our community, are interested in becoming a member, or if you would like to learn more about the mission and vision of Sault Rotaract in general. Thank you for caring.
