Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services responded to a house fire on Wellington West Wednesday afternoon.
The house located at 45 Wellington West near North Street sustained extensive smoke and water damage. Fire Services tell Saultonline.com that no one was home at the time. The fire was contained to the kitchen area. The cause has not been determined.
The street was recently reopened following a murder investigation at 112 Wellington West that has been closed since Saturday morning.
Unfortunately the Fire marshalls are focusing on inspections, record keeping, fire prevention, and various other areas. I don’t think they will be addressing manning and other serious issues the Sault is experiencing. That’s why the Sault needs a risk assessment.
Why would you want him to show up? It’s better to leave that to people who know what they are doing!!!
This would be a good week for the OFM to be in town checking out the local fire service. There have been 3 fires in less than a week and by the picture it looks like the entire fire dept is on scene. I hope they show up soon and get things straightened out. Does anyone know if the Chief showed up at this fire?
Let’s hope no one was hurt
