Impaired driver ends up in snowbank


On the 14th of January 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 34 year old Darrell Macleod of Grove Crescent for impaired driving.

It is alleged that at 12:10 a.m. the accused was operating his motor vehicle on McNabb Street. The accused attempted to turn a corner at Algoma Avenue and slid into a snowbank becoming stuck. When officers arrived; it was found that the accused’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The accused was charged with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that is over the legal limit. He will appear in court on February 27th, 2017.
