Tired of the non-stop snow squalls and cold temperatures from the last few weeks? well the weather will be a lot more tolerable for you this week if you’re not into typical winter conditions.
A touch of Spring will grace Sault Ste. Marie most of the week where temperatures will actually be well above the freezing mark.
Starting today, temperatures should hovering around the freezing mark if not just above it.
By Friday, we could see temps climb to 4 or 5c with some sun! That should shake away the winter blues. Along with the warmer temps comes a chance of some precipitation either wet snow or rain showers so says Environment Canada. Considering the average daytime high for this time of year is -6c , this week our normal daytime high will be our overnight low.
The reason is a change of air flow, this week our weather will be influenced by a Pacific flow instead of an arctic one, that means for a full seven days we should see some of the snow melt or compress. Sault Ste. Marie currently has about 60cm on the ground.
Winter is far from over though, next week temperatures begin to sink again to “normal values” and more colder temps are expected into the first week of February.
