Matthew O’Connor, who only got one start last season with the Ottawa Senators, might have his chance again to prove himself.
With the trouble the Senators are having in goal, O’Connor was called up from the AHL.
O’Connor, the Sault native, had taken over the No. 1 job in Binghamton’s goal recently.
“The team has won a few games down there and he’s definitely one of the guys that has contributed,” Senators coach Boucher said. “We know he’s a big body, he’s developing, he’s getting better and we knew he was the guy that we had to bring up.”
The Senators recalled O’Connor on an emergency basis with the NHL’s roster freeze in effect and he can be returned to Binghamton any time.
