On the 5th of January 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 38 year old male for a domestic violence incident.
It is alleged that on the 5th of January the accused engaged in a verbal altercation with his wife. The victim did not want to stay, and on 3 occasions tried to leave. Each time she tried to leave the accused grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground. The accused then stomped on the victim while she was on the ground.
The victim was able to get away and police were contacted. The accused was arrested and charged with one count of Forcible Confinement and one count of Assault. He will appear in bail court today.

It is alleged that on the night of January 5th the accused engaged in an argument with his girlfriend. The accused then struck the victim across the face with the back of his hand and pushed her against a door.
The accused was arrested by officers and charged with one count of assault. He will appear in bail court today.
