Hundreds laced up their walking shoes to walk for memories, during the annual Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District’s “Walk for Alzheimer’s” on Sunday.
The indoor walk held at White Pines raises funds that helps provide support to local individuals and their families who are affected by the Alzheimer’s disease, as well support for caregivers and their families.
Each year, 25,000 Canadians hear the words, ‘you have dementia.’ But dementia is more than just numbers. Friends, families and members of our communities all experience the personal and social impact of dementia.
