Frank Manzo dead at 90

SaultOnline.com has learned that former ward 6 councillor Frank Manzo Sr. has died at age 90.

The announcement was made today on Facebook by Manzo’s daughter Carol Whitfield.

Whitefield wrote the following post:

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that my Dad, Frank Manzo Senior, the oldest City Councillor in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada’s history whose last term ended in 2014, at the age of 87, and was also the longest serving City Councillor in Sault Ste. Marie’s history, serving for a total of 38 years on council representing Ward 6, passed away peacefully last night on Sunday, February 26, 2017 with his family by his side. Dad was a mighty and passionate servant of the people for 38 years plus.

  1. RIP Frank. You served your city well, council has not been the same without you, nor will it ever be. Frank was the only member that you could not email, only phone calls for Frank. And he answered every one of them. I loved that about him. A long life dedicated to serve us and his city. Thank you.
