HURLEY, Gordon

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. It is with deep sadness the family of Gordon Hurley announces his peaceful passing at ARCH on Thursday, February 9, 2017.

Loving, patient husband and best friend of Barbara (nee Falconer). Loving father and best friend of his two sons Craig and Kyle (Jen) who are the love of his life.

Loving brother of Brenda Lamming (Walter) and Roger (Nelda). Son of the late Harvey and late Rosina Hurley. Son-in-law of the late William and late Maim Falconer. Dear brother-in-law of Esther and Mary.

Special uncle of Rhonda, Bobby, Michael, Brent, David, Derek, Kelly, Graham, Claire, Glenn and Danny. He will be missed by his two dogs Cadie and Mandie.

Gord was a man of great faith who loved the lord with all his heart. He enjoyed sharing his faith with others and also through his love of music and playing his bass guitar. He was also an avid Greyhounds, Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan.

Special thanks to the Pastor and prayerful congregation of the Free Methodist Church, all the special members of our small group, Joanne and Julie and other friends at Wal Mart.

To Mary, Gord’s faithful phone prayer partner for the many acts of kindness who called sometimes daily. To Kelly for the loving messages of support. To little Emma for nightly prayers. To Roger and Nelda for making sure we made our appointments and to Frank and Brenda for “always being there”.

Also thank you to Para Med especially Donna and Marci for their excellent care, John and the Cancer Care Clinic staff, Dr. Buehner and staff at ARCH with special thanks to Nori. We wouldn’t have made it without all of you.

Friends may visit at the Free Methodist Church (753 McNabb St.) on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 11 am until time of Memorial Service at 1 pm. Pastor Wesley Wood officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to ARCH would be greatly appreciated.
