United Way needs $100,000 by March 31

In September the 2016 the United Way Campaign set a 5 year goal to raise $6,250,000 to fight poverty in our community.  At that time, Campaign Chair Kathleen McFadden was quoted as saying the Cabinet was hopeful that “at least” 20% of that target would be raised over the following months.

On February 1, 2017 United Way announced the programs and community partners that will launch their 5 year poverty reduction strategy April 2017.

Campaign Chair, Kathleen McFadden advised that the campaign had raised $872,832. “United Way needs to raise another $125,000 by March 31, 2017 to meet funding commitments that have been made.”

Since that announcement United Way has received additional donations and thanks go to all who have donated so generously over the past several months; however we still need to raise another $100,000 by March 31, 2017.

Chair, Kathleen McFadden is “hopeful that donors who may have held off contributing will cut a cheque now that they know what United Way plans to do.”

It’s not too late …your donation will go a long way to changing lives by addressing the root causes that prevent some from achieving their true potential.
