Who Killed Todd Petrie? Six year murder mystery continues


Monday February 27, 2017, will mark six years since the body of 48-year old Todd Petrie was discovered in his Albert Street East apartment in city of Sault Ste. Marie.

“The investigation into the murder of Mr. Petrie remains active and ongoing and detectives from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service (SSMPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing to follow up on any and all information that comes forward. Any member of the public who may have information about this crime is encouraged to contact the police and share that information” states Detective Inspector Shawn Glassford of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) who is the Major Case Manager assigned to this investigation.

In November 2012, the Government of the Province of Ontario authorized a $50 000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder Mr. Petrie. This reward remains in place and available.

    It stands to reason that if you know this to be true you must know who these people are.

  2. Everyone assumes a ‘man’ did this to Todd, and that only one person was involved.
    You know the old saying….never assume.
    I agree with Volker that (several people) have died in Todd’s circle since he was killed, that goes with the territory of being an addict, BUT there are many still living who know the answers and could solve this.
    50k these days isn’t enough to out yourself and testify- or clearly someone would have done it by now. I can understand that because whoever testifies (will be the rat) and will have to be gone, move away and start a new life. Some people that can solve this most likely would gladly disappear themselves, but you can’t do it on 50k. Can’t even buy a house with that.
    Maybe they should raise the reward money?

  3. According to comments of late a number of people seem to think that the person the police are seeking has also recently passed on taking that secret with them.
