The 3rd Annual Soup Ste. Marie event will take place Saturday March 18th from 6pm-8:00pm at 180 Projects, an independent gallery located at 180 Gore Street. Soup Ste. Marie is an innovative fundraising opportunity that makes small grants available to community minded projects. The theme of this year’s event will be “Engaging Indigenous Youth”.
The grant money is raised in a single night from individuals who purchase a bowl of soup for a communal dinner during which they hear about exciting ideas being conceived in Sault Ste. Marie. The revenue from the soup sales is then awarded to an individual or organization based upon the votes of all those in attendance. If you attend Soup Ste. Marie, you get to help decide who gets the money.
So how will you engage Indigenous youth?
Attend – Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in person at Gore Street Café, Stackburger, Shabby Motley, Café Natura and at the door.
Partisoupants – Do you have an idea about how you can engage Indigenous youth? Or are you an Indigenous youth with a souper idea? The application is easy to complete but is due March 13th!
Soup Ste. Marie organizers are a group of like-minded people who care about community building and making this City a better place, one bowl of soup at a time. Everyone and anyone is welcome to join us. This is a BYOB event—Bring Your Own Bowl.
