Local soap stars help raise cash for Easter Seals

Many of the cast members from the locally produced soap opera, Tami , took time off from their melodramatic lives to help man the phones during the annual Rotary Easter Seals telethon Sunday.

The 6 hour telethon raises much needed funds to help assist the many local families and kids with equipment and various devices as well as sending kids to summer camp.

Tami cast members, Karl Uchmanowicz, Anthony Uchmanowicz, Laurie Jarret, Tami Rydall Andy Martens ,Sandra Hunter Dunn and Kevin Collar (not seen in this photo) took calls and pledges from fans during the telethon. The locally produced soap airs weekly on Shaw TV and SaultOnline.com.

Rotary has hosted the telethon for 34 years raising hundreds of thousands of dollars locally.

The telethon aired on ShawTV Sunday afternoon. By the time the telethon went off the air, a total of $106,000 was raised. Carolyn Bunting O’Connor, executive Producer of the telethon was amazed at the total,”we know this was hard going in , a tough financial situation in the Sault”

I have so much admiration for these Kids , young adults , and adults facing challenges in life with a great big smile for the world ! .. As we heard today it isn’t all smiles ,, and I Thank every single person who dedicates their time and Love to these amazing people ! XO
