After suffering a disappointing 6-4 loss in their semi-final game, the St. Mary’s boys curling team rebounded to earn a bronze medal at the 2017 OFSAA Curling Championships held in North Bay.

The team, consisting of Skip Nick Lemieux, Vice Jake Reid, Second Andrew Berg, and Lead Taylor Longo faced Cite Des Jeunes in the bronze medal match. Scoring in the early ends went back and forth and the game was tied 1-1 after 3.

St. Mary’s stole one in four and Cite Des Jeunes responded with two of their own in the fifth. St. Mary’s was forced to one in the sixth but controlled the last two ends with steals in both the seventh and eighth ends for the victory.
