An early taste of Summer this weekend!

Get your shorts out because you might need them this weekend as very warm air pushes into the region giving us an early taste of Summer weather.

Temperatures are expected to climb to the mid or upper teens Saturday under a mainly sunny sky. Sault Ste. Marie could reach 18 or 19c Saturday and dipping only slightly on Sunday before clouds and rain move in.

The record temperature for the Sault for April 8th was 14.1c in 1998. We could match or break that on Saturday. The warm air will stay in place until Monday when temps will dip to more seasonal values and the rain moves in.

Temperatures rebound after mid-week back to above seasonal values heading into the long Easter weekend.

It’s hard to believe that just a month ago there was still over 20cm of snow on the ground. Folks in Southern Ontario are experiencing a late winter storm today where as much as 20 cm will accumulate before warmer air moves in for them this weekend.

The greatest amount of snow to fall in the Sault on April 8th was 15cm in 2010
