Queen’s Park has officially proclaimed the week of April 3 as Colleges Week in Ontario! Colleges Week provides a unique opportunity to highlight the Ontario College system and the positive impact it has had on many through advanced education, skills training and personal and professional development.
Colleges Week activities have been planned across the province as part of a national celebration of both Canada’s 150th anniversary and in recognition of 50 years of the Ontario College system.
To commemorate these milestones, Sault College will be hosting an open Community Cleanup event on Friday, April 7 to complement activities across the province. The event will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. at Essar Hall on Northern Avenue in Sault Ste. Marie. Refreshments, trash bags and gloves will be available onsite. All Sault College students, staff, neighbours and community members are cordially invited to participate.
“Sault College is proud to celebrate this important milestone in the history of the Ontario College system,” says Dr. Ron Common, Sault College President. “Throughout the years, Sault College has offered a unique and all-encompassing student experience, which has helped so many find what they love. We continue to evolve to meet the needs of our learners and are excited to continue to accompany them on their paths to success.”
Colleges across the province will also celebrate Colleges Week by hosting events such as: tree plantings, meal preparations for people in need, and other student volunteer events to support local communities.
Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend!
