Miss Vickie’s is voluntarily recalling its jalapeno-flavoured kettle cooked potato chips due to the potential presence of salmonella in the seasoning used in the product.

Out of an abundance of caution and commitment to our consumers, we are voluntarily recalling one Miss Vickie’s product: Miss Vickie’s® Jalapeño flavour kettle cooked potato chips.

This is a result of a supplier’s recent recall of a seasoning blend which includes jalapeño powder that could contain Salmonella. Although no Salmonella was found in the finished seasoning supplied to Miss Vickie’s, we decided out of an abundance of caution to recall this one product.

Only one Miss Vickie’s® flavour is impacted by this recall and it was distributed in three bag sizes nationally in Canada to grocery, drug and mass retailers, foodservice outlets and vending machines.

The company is recalling the following:

· 40 gram bags of Miss Vickie’s® Jalapeño flavour kettle cooked potato chips o UPC: 060410001769 with “Guaranteed Fresh” dates of June 20 or earlier o Sold in foodservice outlets and vending machines

· 220 gram bags of Miss Vickie’s® Jalapeño flavour kettle cooked potato chips o UPC: 060410066386 with “Guaranteed Fresh” dates of June 20 or earlier

No other Miss Vickie’s® flavours or products are impacted by this recall.
