Dixie Lee North, an Ontario-based takeout and dine-in restaurant franchise, has opened a new location in Blind River. The restaurant is open at 105 Causley Street, with the grand opening taking place from June 1st to 3rd, including cake and refreshments and a ribbon cutting on June 3rd.

New franchisee owners Don and Bonnie Cook are thrilled to offer Dixie Lee’s famous chicken—produced and processed in Canada; never frozen, always fresh; with freshly ground spices—to the community of Blind River. Don has a long history in the food and beverage industry and currently works at the hospital managing the food services department there. He is excited to use his experience to bring Dixie Lee’s great chicken to his community with his wife, Bonnie.

“Dixie Lee North Corporate uses only the best ingredients and cholesterol-free oil for every piece of chicken. We’re excited to follow the recipes to offer great-tasting chicken and other delicious food to Blind River,” says Don.

As well as the fantastic food Dixie Lee offers, including both fried chicken and fish and chips, Don and Bonnie chose to open the franchise because of its excellent business model. The franchise is owned by Maria Struik, an award-winning Canadian marketer and co-author of bestseller Women Who Mean Business. Struik ensures franchisee owners are given the best opportunities, including health benefits, life insurance, and grants rarely available to new franchisees.

Headquartered in Bruce Mines, Ontario, Dixie Lee North opened its first restaurant over 50 years ago to serve top-quality food to Canadian and international clientele.  Dixie Lee now has over 100 locations coast-to-coast, including in Bancroft, Barry’s Bay, Garson, Penetanguishene, Spanish and Stayner.
