Sault Youth Attend Canadian Youth Bowling Championships

Four Sault Ste. Marie youth are preparing to represent Northern Ontario at the Canadian Youth Bowling Championship June 1, 2017 – June 4, 2017.

The four will compete against sixty-‐four Provincial Champions from across Canada.
Miah  Duplassie, Ema Bowen, Joshua Woolley, and  Hayleigh Hayes-Sheen are proud to
represent Sault Ste. Marie at this prestigious event.

The four qualified for Nationals with impressive performances in April at the Provincial
finals held at Mario’s Bowl in Thunder Bay.

Bowen, Woolley and Hayes-Sheen are no strangers to National Competition; each has
represented Northern Ontario several times at the National level. This will represent Duplassie’s first time at Nationals.

Over the last several weeks the team has been on the lanes gearing up to deliver
exceptional performances in Kelowna. “I’m confident we have a strong team. We have
a good mix of veterans and up and coming bowlers eager to make their mark on the
National stage”, says Team Manager, Liisa Woolley.

The event will kick off with Opening Ceremonies on Thursday June 1 2017 in
Kelowna, BC and competitors will take to the bowling lanes for a  3-‐day tournament

Ten pin youth bowlers will compete for National Championship titles, in singles, doubles
and team play. Four Thunder Bay bowlers, Halin Laporte, Tyson Baxter, Brittany Woolley
and Aaron Craig, will round out Northern Ontario’s contingent.
