Our mother, Wanda Fay Shurline Walls, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in Ocala, Florida at the age of 78. She was born April 10, 1938 in Caraway, Arkansas to Melvin and Christine Morris and is predeceased by her loving husband, Allen E. Walls. Heaven gained another special angel that day.
Spending 21 years as a U.S.A. Army military wife provided Wanda with the opportunity to live and raise her family throughout the United States, Japan (4 years) and Germany (2 years). She was also provided with the opportunities to travel to Switzerland, Greece and Canada.
Her favorite thing in the world was to spend time with her loved ones and she was loved by so many people in return. Wanda had a way of making people feel good about themselves. She genuinely cared about everyone she knew – and they knew it. She also liked to have fun. Wanda will be remembered as a witty, strong but gentle woman, with a spitfire personality. To know her was to love her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Sandra Paquette (Phil), David Walls (Deb), and Richard Walls (Janet). She was the beloved sister of Jerry Morris (Marcella) and Wayne Morris (Wally). “Gramma Walls” has left behind many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved tremendously. They gave her much joy and she was proud of each and every one of them. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both of her parents and by her older sister, Dixie Lee, whom she had never met in this lifetime.
Wanda leaves behind her best friend, Jewell Ashley, whom she shared many fun adventures with. They were “kindred spirits”. She also leaves behind her wonderful neighbors, Woody and Becky Woodling, who were always there for her. She will also be missed by her many friends from different parts of the world.
As per mom’s request she has been cremated and on May 12th, 2017, we will be holding a private family service at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. She will be laid to rest there with the love of her life Allen, her “Sarge”.
