Street Party celebrates healthy living

Those living a healthy lifestyle and those who want to were treated to a downtown street party Saturday.

Lower Brock street was closed to traffic for the 11th annual Country Way Customer Appreciation BBQ. The Country Way is recognized as one of Canada’s leading Independent and Wellness Retailers teamed up with the Salvation Army and their Every Plate Full Campaign. The theme being Live Healthy Give Healthy.

The party gives people a chance to taste test some of the products available at the store through local and national vendors. Prizes and give-a ways totaled over $7,000. It’s also a chance for people to ask and learn about healthy living.

All proceeds from the afternoon event were donated to the Salvation Army.

  1. There was also the walk for ALS today which had a great turnout and was a very nice morning for a walk. There was a small auto show with new and old cars and trucks on part of the roadway that was blocked off for that purpose. We need more of this type of thing every weekend.
