Warmer weather always brings unsettled weather with it. With a push of more humid air into the region in advance of a cold front, Environment Canada has issued the following for the Sault Ste. Marie Algoma area. The same front triggered a tornado warning Saturday evening in North Western Ontario.
Thunderstorms will move across the region tonight as a cold front moves through. Some of the thunderstorms will bring very heavy downpours giving local rainfall amounts of 25 mm in an hour or less. Wind gusts to 70 km/h, frequent lightning and small hail are also to be expected with the strongest thunderstorms.
Craig…I think the t storms died out when they hit the cold waters of Lake Superior. We do need a bit of rain though.
