Traffic Stop leads to Drug Charges


On June 6th, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33 year old Raymond Gregoire of Grace Street regarding the possession and trafficking of a controlled substance.

At 3:30 a.m. officers observed the accused driving in the downtown area while he was known to be a suspended driver. Officers intimated a traffic stop and it was found that the accused was bound by a recognizance with conditions that he remain in his residence at all times except in the presence of his surety and that he reside in Brantford Ontario.

As a result, the accused was placed under arrest. When the accused was searched police located 5 grams of cannabis resin and 11 grams of cocaine along with debt lists and almost $2,000 in cash.

The accused has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and 4 counts of breach of recognizance. He will appear in bail court today.
