SaultOnline caught up with the Highland Ford Pee Wee Major AA Junior Greyhounds today in the showroom of Smyl’s Highland Ford where the dealership was the latest to “get flushed”. As far as fundraisers go, we have to admit that this is one that definitely turns more than a head or two.
All proceeds from this unique fundraiser support both the ALS Foundation and the Highland Ford Pee Wee Major AA Junior Greyhounds. The red and white (Greyhound Hockey Team) toilet features a player’s lower body half sticking straight up from the bowl, skates still tightly laced up!
The humourous bathroom fixture is finding its way around to local businesses and residences, recently as far as Dubreuilville and back.
“A gentleman with ALS in Dubreuilville has raised alot of money for ALS so it was delivered to Dubreuilville by Rectors in Sault Ste Marie so he could take part in the Fundraiser”, stated Rene MacInnes.
If you happen to wake up one morning and discover the bathroom fixture perched on your front lawn, or arrive at work to find it on display in a reception area or showroom, you have a few options available to you:
- make a small donation of $10 to have it taken away
- increase your donation to $15 and have it delivered to another friend or business (way more fun!)
- ensure the fixture doesn’t end up back on your doorstep by buying some “toilet insurance’, a donation of $20
“This is close to our teams heart since we have a teammate whose family is struggling with this horrible disease”, Rene told SaultOnline.
