Thunderbirds mourn the loss of Michael Doan

The Soo Thunderbirds hockey club is deeply saddened to announce the passing of former goaltender Michael Doan, who passed away in a single-vehicle accident this past Saturday in Rochester, Minnesota.

Doan, who played one season with the Thunderbirds in 2010-2011, was the recipient of the Wayne Chase Memorial Trophy for the league’s best goals against average (2.66) and shared the NOJHL’s team goaltending award with Remo Febbraro.

On behalf of the entire Soo Thunderbirds organization, our thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s family and his friends.
