A giant fort was under construction in the parking lot of Bondar Pavilion Sunday to create a dedicated youth space. A project of Youth Odena, a local youth to youth advocacy group.
Billed as Sault Ste. Marie’s Largest Community Box Fort, hundreds of boxes were donated by local businesses that organizers say is, one part daring feat of cardboard engineering, another part open art mural. Box forts are structures built by youth that offer fun, a sense of safety and opportunities to grow by developing skills such as creativity and teamwork.
