Lots of rain in the forecast


Looks like there’s a lot more rain in the forecast for the next 24 hours or so, though most of the weather statement is for areas to the north of the city, Sault Ste. Marie is in the bulls eye for substantial rainfall come Thursday

Special weather statement in effect for:

Agawa – Lake Superior Park
Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay
Rain will begin Thursday morning and continue into Friday morning. Rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 mm are expected from this event.

Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologists are monitoring this situation and will issue further statements or rainfall warnings as required. Note that rainfall warnings are issued when 50 mm or more of rain are expected in 24 hours or less.
