Everyday, someone is suffering from kidney disease. There are approximately 200 people in Sault Ste. Marie who require dialysis just to stay alive.
That’s one of the reason why the annual Kidney Foundation Walk is so important, the money raised helps support services that are needed to keep patients alive while waiting for a kidney transplant.
The annual walk took place Saturday September 9th at Bondar Pavilion and the waterfront boardwalk.
About 85 participants took the challenge of the 5k walk under ideal September weather. The local chapter of the Kidney Foundation hoped to raise $22,000 this year.
