The dog days of summer may be upon us, but St. Ignace is gearing up for a very “Event-Full” September.
According to Quincy Ranville, Executive Director of the St. Ignace Visitors Bureau, “September is a great time to drive up to St. Ignace. Cooler autumn weather, beautiful fall colors and a month full of feature events, offer everyone something to enjoy during our Fall celebration. Register to participate in our events, join the many vendors or just drop in and be part of the fun and the beauty of autumn in the Straits of Mackinac. ”
For exercise and fresh air enthusiasts, September starts with the famous Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk. Later in the month, the 4th annual 10 km Mighty Mac Bridge Race, offers a picturesque route over the Mackinac Bridge at sunrise, followed by a reception and awards ceremony.
If you love tractors and antique snowmobiles, be sure to attend the Antique Tractor Crossing and the Top of the Lake Antique Snowmobile Show. You will be amazed at the hundreds of tractors on display, together with over 50 vintage snowmobiles, vintage clothing and snowmobile memorabilia.
