Male Arrested for Theft of Motor Vehicle

On September 17th, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 27 year old Kevin Hanka of Patrick Street with regards to a stolen motor vehicle.

It is alleged that on September 16th, 2017 the accused took a motor vehicle from a person known to him.  At 10:30 p.m. the accused was driving that motor vehicle in the area of Pine Street and Cunningham Road when he struck a utility pole.  The accused then left the area prior to police arrival.

The accused attended the Police Services Building the next day in relation to this investigation.  He was placed under arrested and charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and will appear in court on October 30th, 2017.
