OPP Investigate ATV Roll Over Fatality

(MCNIE TOWNSHIP, ON)- On September 15, 2017, shortly after 8:00 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Algoma Paramedic Services responded to a single vehicle motor collision involving a male driver on an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on McNie Road in McNie Township.

The investigation is continuing as to why there was a roll over. The operator of the ATV was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Kenneth AUBIN, 62 years of age from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are assisting with this ongoing investigation.

  1. Safety courses for anyone buying an atv or snowmobile should be mandatory. Adults or not. There are far too many deaths involving these machines. People do not respect them or their power, that can get you into serious trouble in a split second.
