OPEN LETTER TO THE PEOPLE OF SAULT STE. MARIE

Dear Friends and neighbors,

June 1st, 2017 was the last sitting day of the Ontario Legislative Assembly before the summer break.  On that day, the people of Sault Ste. Marie elected me to represent you at Queen’s Park as your newest Member of Provincial Parliament.  On September 11th, 2017 the Legislature will re-open and I will officially walk into the House for the first time in this new role.

Throughout the campaign leading up to my election, my team and I knocked on your doors and actively campaigned for over six months.  Following the election, I felt that the community needed a break from the volume of door knocking and telephone calls you received.  It is for this reason that I have delayed in conveying to you this very important message.

The message is a simple one.  Thank you Sault Ste. Marie!  Thank you to all those persons who helped to elect me, by supporting me on Election Day, by taking a lawn sign and by offering your guidance and support along the way.  Thank you to all of the volunteers who joined our team and dedicated countless hours of their time to the campaign.  Thank you Sault Ste. Marie for placing your trust in me.

As I enter the House Monday as the 1857th  MPP ever sworn into the Legislative Assembly Ontario, I intend to demonstrate to you that I am in fact the best person to ensure that our voice is heard at Queen’s Park.  I have a vision for our City to become the economic engine of the North and I believe that we can realize that goal.  I look forward to fighting for you and for meaningful change, in order to make this a reality.

I would also like to take this opportunity to advise you all that our local constituency office has officially opened in our new location.  We are now located at on the first floor of the Elgin Tower, at 390 Bay Street, Unit 102, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 1X2.

All constituents are encouraged to visit with any questions, concerns, special events in the community, or for any other of the wide range of services offered by our office. Our team can also be reached at 705-949-6959 for any inquiries.

We look forward to continuing to work for the constituents of Sault Ste. Marie.

Thank you,
Ross Romano
MPP Sault Ste. Marie

  1. Ya Ross, you’re gonna set the world on fire in Queen’s Park…cuz EVERYONE wants to hear from a nobody from a nobody population-dwindling town that has more people dying than being born, and has young people and businesses leaving faster than water from Superior through the St. Mary’s rapids…

  2. Good to know that censorship of free speech is alive and well at Saultonline as my comments of yesterday were removed, it seems. Romano is a waste of a good suit, was on council and still is as a prospective member of our next (maybe) provincial government..The man is incapable of saying anything in 10 words or less…Now take this one down, Saultonline…LOLOL…

  3. Simple is the only message he can deliver because he is simple… he’s hoping for a large pension if he can stay in long enough, like any other politition…No one knocked on my door, other than a bunch of kids dropping #### by my door to stumble over when I walked my dog….. At this point in time, for the next election I am gonna write in my dogs name.. It’s legal, and he can’t do much worse than some of these idiots we keep electing….

  4. No one knocked on our door either…from ANY party !!! I expect it will be the same old thing…the Cons telling us how terrible the Liberals are (which we all know).but will not lay out a plan on how to improve things. A Conservative voice will be quickly muffled by the party in power…that’s the way it works Ross.

  5. You nor any of your team knocked on my door. You better get your asses in gear, tell us what you will do for us in no uncertain terms, show us that you are serious and capable about taking the place of the brutal fiberals. Someone has to or Canada is totally screwed and will never get out of debt.
