Sault Female Hockey Association (SFHA) launched Hockey Bags for Hunger campaign today to help stock the shelves of the Soup Kitchen Community Centre.

Hockey bags will be at the John Rhodes Community Centre Arena and Rankin Arena until October 15 so community members can easily drop off donations and help make a difference. Donations made at the Rankin Arena will help stock the shelves at the Batchewana First Nation Food Bank as well as the Soup Kitchen.

The league will also be accepting donations on October 15 during the Soo Greyhounds game at the Essar Centre (2:07 p.m. start).

Additionally, the 2007 Jr. Greyhounds team will be collecting donations during their exhibition game against the SFHA Pee Wee BB Wildcats on October 4, 5 p.m. at the McMeeken Arena; and the Soo Pee Wee Hockey League has already accepted the girls’ challenge and will be collecting non-perishables from their teams to support the Soup Kitchen.
Sault Female Hockey Association provides hockey programming including learn-to-play, house league, and rep competitive teams, for local girls ages 4-21 who want to play the game of hockey in a supportive, fun environment. For more information, visit www.saultgirlshockey.ca
