The first ever OHL Northern Ontario Cup

The Great North Midget League in collaboration with the NOHA are proud to introduce the first ever OHL Northern Ontario Cup.  The event will be held in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario from March 2nd to the 4th.

The showcase will consist of 4 teams (Sudbury Minor Wolves, North Bay Minor Trappers, Thunder Bay Minor Kings and the host Soo Thunderbirds Minor Midget).  Each team will be guaranteed 5 games throughout the event and the NOHA championship trophy will be presented in the finals on Sunday.

The event will be held in various venues throughout Sault Ste Marie. The games will be held in venues such as Essar Center, John Rhodes Community Center and Rankin Arena. Our teams will also have the opportunity to take in a Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds game on Friday evening.  The Greyhounds game will conclude our first day of the event which will include two games, team banquet and Greyhounds home game.

We are excited to welcome the Thunder Bay Minor Kings to our event. The Kings representation approached our league about the possibility of hosting this type of event and this is certainly something we could not pass up on.

Our goal is to have most, if not all of the OHL clubs have representation at our event and ensure that our players in Northern Ontario receive the proper scouting and development they deserve.
