On October 23rd, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 42 year old Ronald Baron of Grace Street regarding a home invasion.
It is alleged that on September 22nd, 2017 the accused and 2 other individuals entered a residence in the 400 block of Third Avenue by forcing a door open.
The accused had his face covered and was in possession of a firearm at the time.
The residents were home and were threatened at gunpoint while several items were stolen from the residence. All three suspects then fled the scene and police were contacted.
Officers were able to identify the accused and he was taken into custody on October 23rd, 2017.
Upon his arrest the accused was found the be in possession of 13 grams of Cocaine, 2 grams of Heroin and 4.2 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine.
He has been charged with:
-One count of break and enter
-One count of robbery with a firearm
-One count of wearing a disguise with intent to commit a criminal offence
-One count of pointing a firearm
-One count of forcible confinement
-One count of possession of property obtained by crime
-2 counts of careless storage of a firearm
-2 counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
-2 counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
-2 counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
-2 counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
-4 counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a court order
-3 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
He was held for bail court.
On October 20, 2017 Officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 45-year-old Amey Roach of Wallace Terrace and 33-year-old Ryan Elliot of Wellington Street East for a break and enter.
It is alleged that just before midnight the accused persons broke into a business in the 1200 block of Great Northern Road. Officers quickly responded and located both accused persons leaving the scene. Both were taken into custody and charged with one count of break and enter. They will appear in court on Nov. 27, 2017.
