Nogdawindamin Family and Community Services is a designated Child Welfare agency servicing members of the 7 First Nations between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury.
Nogdawindamin provides foster care in the form of Alternative Care for the families and communities we support with a view to keeping families and communities connected.
Alternative Care parents are an important part of the circle of care for families and come from all walks of life, including young families, single parents, same sex couples, empty nesters, First Nations members, and non members.
Nogdawindamin approaches child welfare guided by traditional teachings and we ask that our Alternative Care parents make a commitment to helping children remain connected to those teachings while in care.
On October 21, 2017 will be honouring our Alternative Care families at our appreciation ceremony at the Water Tower Inn – an annual event recognizing the importance of providing stability for children.
