Tommy Lee and the Northern Ontario Party’s Algoma Riding Association are challenging all community and political leaders to show their support during the Month of October and help fill the shelves at the Sault Ste Marie’s Soup Kitchen.
After a very successful day at Food Basics, and including Lyle’ Lewis”s (Algoma Riding VP) large donation of small potatoes, theirr two day total for the Sault Soup Kitchen Food Drive is Approximately 750Lbs of food donations and $531.60 in cash donations! “It is time to put our political agendas aside for the moment and work together to raise food for those who are suffering in the North. As leaders of this Northern community, it is time for us to set an example and show the rest of Ontario what Northerners are made of. ” said Tom Lee of the Northern Ontario Party, “Let’s ensure our friends and neighbors have enough food to eat throughout the year, as no one in Northern Ontario should ever have to go hungry”
If you like to help out, the Soup Kitchen is in desperate need of non-perishable foods, baby food, infant formula, lunch snacks for kids, and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations are always welcomed and appreciated.
Food and money donations will be accepted at the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre. This facility is located at 172 James Street in Sault Ste Marie and you can organize a food drop off by calling (705)942- 2694.
