Doubleheader Weekend for the Algoma Thunderbirds

The Algoma Thunderbird women’s and men’s basketball teams are at home this weekend to play the Lakehead University Thunderwolves in a pair of games.

This weekend is key as these will be OUA west region interdivision games. In the women’s OUA west region, the Thunderwolves are in second place with a 3 – 1 record. The Thunderwolves men’s team is in 8th place with a 0 – 4 record. The Thunderbird women’s team has a 0 – 6 record and is in 9th place and the men have a 1 – 5 record, good for 6th place.

In pre-season play, the Thunderbird men defeated Lakehead in Thunder Bay, 76 to 50 and 86 to 85, on October 13th and 14th. These will be exciting matches as Thunderwolves men will be here to exact their revenge. Friday night, the women’s game is at 6pm and the men’s game is at 8pm at the George Leach Centre. On Saturday, the women’s game is at 2pm and the men’s game is at 4pm.

Games will be streamed live on OUA.TV.
