On November 27th, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 45 year old Craig Witty of Albert Street East and 33 year old Emmanuel Mugabo of Cathcart Street for transportation fraud.
It is alleged that both males took a ride with a local taxi company on November 27th and exited the cab without paying for the fare.
Police were in the area and the driver was able to speak with officers and explain what had happened.
Officers were able to quickly locate both males walking away from the area and they were placed in custody.
Both males have been charged with one count of obtaining transportation by fraud. They will appear in court on January 8th, 2018.
