Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is an initiative of the Government of Canada’s Summer Work Experience program. CSJ provides wage subsidies to employers to create employment for secondary and post-secondary students.
CSJ provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees to create summer job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 30 years who are full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year.
“We had tremendous success with this program in the riding of Sault Ste. Marie this past summer. We were able to fund all our eligible employer applicants which was a fantastic boost to our local economy. What I like about this program is the focus on local priorities, on community services-we need to offer opportunities for youth and businesses to thrive in Northern Ontario and this program does that.” says Sheehan.
The Canada Summer Jobs 2018 program is currently accepting applications from eligible employers until February 2nd.
