Snow squall warning in effect for:

  • Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island

Snow squalls are continuing early this morning.

Snow squalls will shift south of the region later this morning.

There is a potential for local total snow accumulations of 15 to 30 cm by later this morning.

In addition, local blowing snow will contribute to poor visibility at times.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.

Snow squall warning in effect for:

Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay

Snow squalls continue to affect areas from Sault Ste. Marie towards Montreal River.

Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 60 becoming light near midnight. Low minus 24. Wind chill minus 33.

This will likely persist through the night before shifting out of the region Tuesday morning.

There is a potential for localized heavy snow accumulations of 15 to 30 cm by Tuesday morning.

In addition, local blowing snow will contribute to very poor visibility. There have been reports of visibility down to zero at times.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.
