Snow Squall Watch In Effect

1

Snow squall watch in effect for:

Agawa – Lake Superior Park
Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay

Lake effect snow squalls are expected to develop late this evening and continue through Sunday.

The squalls are forecast to be focused over Lake Superior Provincial Park tonight. On Sunday the squalls are expected to shift slightly southward to affect mainly the southern portions of Lake Superior Park as well as the Montreal River area.

Local snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm in 12 hours will be possible under the strongest snow squalls.

The squalls may shift a little further southward Sunday night and could weaken somewhat, however there is uncertainty.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Road closures are possible.
