On January 21st, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 71 year old male from Sault Ste. Marie as a result of a domestic violence incident.
It is alleged that in November of 2017 the accused forcibly confined a female victim to a residence, and assaulted her when she tried to leave. Later, on January 20th, 2018 the accused pushed the victim to a bed and sexual assaulted her. On January 21st, 2018 the accused dragged the victim by the hair into a residence and then assaulted her each time she tried to leave.
Police were contacted and the accused was taken into custody. He has been charged with 2 counts of assault, 2 counts of forcible confinement and one count of sexual assault.
He was held for bail court.
